I live in the north-west highlands of Scotland, next to the Isle of Skye, where I was born and brought up. After leaving home when I was 18, I returned 18 years later, having spent the last decade working in London as a financial PR. Before I came back to the Highlands, I took a year out and travelled from London to India by bus and train and then spent some time in Africa. I am now a journalist with the West Highland Free Press newspaper, based on Skye, and also write freelance travel articles. Currently, I am working on a book of the Highland Rover Diaries.
